¶ 01 Hon. Presiding Member, during this Emergency debate, I make a request from the Hon. State Minister of Defence. The area around the Sea Cadet training camp on the Kalpitiya peninsula has become highly dangerous. As the Air Force trains at that camp, fishermen, farmers, tourists, and residents within 10–15 km are at risk. I previously explained this to the Hon. State Minister of Defence. Just as you consider steps on losses from the cyclone, I raise the question of safeguarding the people in this area. Due to that training camp, bombs have fallen, causing serious problems and damages to farmers and fishermen. Large dangers remain when the winds come. I ask during this Emergency debate to ensure their safety.

¶ 02 My colleague Hon. M.A.M. Thahir mentioned this too. During our Qurbani, extremists try to create issues. Using this Emergency, please ensure peace in our area and country. I especially request the Hon. State Minister of Defence to intervene. Kalpitiya is a significant economic region. Please examine this and ensure justice for those residents. I also thank the Hon.
