¶ 01 This land owned by the Sri Nagananda International Institute at Manel Watta has been sold off by Shiranthi Rajapaksa on 10 October 2023 in a suspicious manner; in other words, a complete fraud appears to have been carried out through these deeds, even misleading monks.

¶ 02 I also have a Rs. 23,000 electricity bill dated 12 July 2023, addressed to a monk at Mihindu Arana, Mahindaramaya, Ihala Yagoda, Imbulgoda, showing that monks have been paying electricity bills for this land, while by October 2023 it had been sold to Mr. Samararatna Kodikara. This is a massive fraud. Recently, a social media post said: “The CID has arrested former Chairman of Kataragama Pradeshiya Sabha, Asoka Wickremesinghe, over allegations of preparing fraudulent documents for the construction of a residence for the Rajapaksa family on a land near the Menik Ganga.”

¶ 03 The Rajapaksas, and politicians around them, have put even monks into difficulty. Yesterday, an important Act was passed enabling action against such illegal activities. I request action. A CID investigation is ongoing. I am ready to hand over all these documents to the CID. Thank you.
