¶ 01 Provisions Made from Budget, 2025 for Development of Tea Industry: Details

¶ 02 Question to the Minister of Plantation and Community Infrastructure:

¶ 03 (a) Will he inform this House the: (i) total provision allocated by the Budget, 2025 for the development and improvement of the tea industry; (ii) amounts allocated from the said provision to each province, separately; (iii) amounts allocated for the Districts of Nuwara Eliya, Badulla, Matale, Ratnapura, Galle and Matara, separately; and (iv) percentage of said provision to be allocated for new cultivation and re-cultivation, factory modernization and technological upgrading, research and promotion of tea cultivation, marketing and market promotion, provision of relief to small and medium-scale cultivators and other related sectors, separately?

¶ 04 (b) Will he also inform this House of the total provision allocated for the tea industry in the Budget, 2026?

¶ 05 (c) If not, why?
