¶ 01 asked the Minister of Urban Development, Construction and Housing: (a) Is he aware that - (i) a housing scheme consisting of more than 50 housing units was launched in Vavunativu within the Manmunai-West Divisional Secretary's Division in Batticaloa during the previous “Good Governance” Government; (ii) the construction of some houses has been completed, but the construction of some other houses has not been completed; and (iii) the governments that came into power subsequently neither restored those houses nor handed them over to the people; (iv) the people in those areas have been facing various hardships for more than eight years accordingly? (b) If so, will he inform this House - (i) whether action will be taken to fully complete this housing scheme; and (ii) the timeframe within which it will be completed? (c) If not, why?
