¶ 01 Madam Presiding Member, please count my four minutes from now.

¶ 02 Government Members, including the Chief Organizer, say “footnoters” brought 30–40 people here. But the people entrusted 159 seats to this Government because of what those others did; do not rehash the past — speak from 2024.

¶ 03 The Chairman of Lanka Coal Company resigned in December. In his handover letter he named those responsible, including Secretary Prof. Hemapala and the Minister. Why are you going after the GM? If you arrest GM Namal Hewage, then arrest the Minister too — do not scapegoat officials as was done in the past.

¶ 04 Your Government is only 1 year and 4 months old and already this is the third such incident. First was the failed no-confidence against the former Speaker over an alleged fake certificate; it never came to the floor. Second was a no-confidence threatened against the State Minister of Defence — withdrawn due to your own actions. You even question the current State Minister of Defence, who was the Eastern Commander at the time of certain oaths taken by extremists; be consistent.

¶ 05 Do not cut power to our homes; cut your own if you must. Past leaders built Laxapana, Kotmale, Victoria, and Lakvijaya. You have no right to deprive the nation of power. You block projects through protests and fasts, then claim credit. Even your coal “corruption” targets plants we built. Thank you.
