¶ 01 Hon. Deputy Minister, thank you for your answers. Hon. Speaker, my first supplementary is more a proposal. At the recent District Coordinating Committee meeting on Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation—Hon. Deputy Minister Upali Samarasinghe also attended—I requested that, since over 5,000 kg of vegetables arrive daily at this Economic Centre and there are no cold-storage facilities, a large quantity is wasted. Therefore, I asked that a cold room be established at the Centre under this year’s Budget allocations. I was told it could be done in consultation with the Deputy Minister. Will you establish it soon? Also, administration of the Centre is now under the Government Agent; I think continuing it that way will benefit locals.

¶ 02 Further, the Co-operative Training School at Poonthottam, under our co-operative department, has been used since 2009 as a rehabilitation centre for persons affected by drug use. A provincial rehabilitation centre I established when I was Northern Province Health Minister is at Poovarasankulam Hospital. You may use that for the purpose. When will you move the current residents from the Co-operative Training School to a suitable location?
