¶ 01 Hon. Minister, I wish to draw your attention to one specific matter. First, my thanks to you, the Deputy Minister, and the Chair of the Milleaniya Divisional Coordinating Committee, Ms. Oshani Umanga Hapuarachchi, for your interest in the Millaniya Green Industry and Technology Zone in Raigama, Kalutara. Construction began earlier but stalled during the past five years; you have now resumed it. Basic works — internal roads, electricity, water, and an administrative office — are done. However, the access road from the main road is not done. Six months ago you said industries would start by January 2026, but not a single factory foundation has been laid yet. Demand is high and resources to solve unemployment exist. The estate is 100 acres; we must leave about 40 acres for reservation; 60 can be developed. So far, only 25 acres are developed; another 100 acres of uncultivable land at Niuchatalwatta have been identified. Adequate land for industry exists in Kalutara. Please, across party lines, quickly select new investors and commence construction.
