¶ 01 Privilege: Loss of Opportunity to Seek Clarification Through Question Posed to Hon. Prime Minister on 08.10.2025.

¶ 02 Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Though this is not a point of order, you have allowed me to raise the privilege matter.

¶ 03 I submitted a question on 2025.10.02 under Questions to the Hon. Prime Minister scheduled for 2025.10.08. I was asked to amend it, and accordingly I submitted an amended question on 2025.10.03 (Friday). It was rejected stating several points. I revised and resubmitted the same day. It then went to the Office of the Leader of the House. Somehow, the Prime Minister was misled. On 08.10.2025, although the final amended question was placed before the Hon. Prime Minister, two weeks’ time was sought to answer it. I do not object to two weeks—even a month would be fine. But the Government made the Prime Minister read out something untrue to this House.

¶ 04 The Statement said the question was received on 2025.10.07. I am not contesting when it reached her office. But a prepared answer to the rejected question was said to be ready. Today, the Hon. Foreign Minister speaks instead—as if under Politburo agreement—rather than the Prime Minister.

¶ 05 From the above, I have been deprived of the opportunity to present and seek clarification on the UN High Commissioner’s report, which I consider a breach of my privilege. I request that this be referred to the Committee on Ethics and Privileges. I also request an inquiry whether the failure to answer arose from delays in the Prime Minister’s Office, the Office of the Leader of the House, or the Office of the Secretary-General of Parliament.
