¶ 01 Please be seated. You are a senior Member, aren’t you? The ruling has been given from the Chair. The ruling is not arbitrary; it is on the advice of the Table. Please be seated.

¶ 02 Those who jumped here and there like jumping crabs, changing parties, betraying the people who voted for them—those gentlemen who showed their backs to the people—please ask them to sit down, Hon. Presiding Member.

¶ 03 Give me my time. The so-called seniors of the Opposition. We must tell the people one thing: yes, we will safeguard, as is, the trust the people have placed in the National People’s Power. One Opposition Member resigned and contested the Colombo Municipal Council. But like a battered moray eel, now he just blabbers.

¶ 04 You cannot establish power in the Colombo Municipal Council. As we said yesterday and always, we reiterate to the people that in the CMC and the 267 local bodies we won, the power will be established by the National People’s Power—the message of Malimawa. Whatever slander the Opposition says of us, we will turn it into slandered dust and, hand in hand with the people, take forward the process of rebuilding this country. Thank you for the time, Hon.
