¶ 03 Public Security Proclamation.

¶ 04 The following messages have been received by me from His Excellency the President:

¶ 07 Hon. A.W.M. Jagath Wickramaratne, Speaker, Parliament of Sri Lanka.

¶ 08 Hon. Speaker,

¶ 09 By the Proclamation issued under Section 2 of the Public Security Ordinance (Chapter 40), it has been declared that the Orders made under that Ordinance shall be in force throughout Sri Lanka for one month with effect from 28th January 2026.

¶ 10 Acting under Article 155 of the Constitution for the protection of public order and the maintenance of essential services to ensure the safety of the public and continuity of services, I hereby inform Parliament accordingly.

¶ 14 Hon. Speaker,

¶ 15 Under the powers vested in me by the Public Security Ordinance (Chapter 40), taking into consideration the necessity of maintaining public order, I have issued an Order calling out all members of the Armed Forces, as specified in the First Schedule, to maintain public order in the areas specified in the Second Schedule.

¶ 16 In terms of Section 2(3) read with Section 21(2) of the said Ordinance, I hereby notify Parliament of the same.
