¶ 01 Hon. Speaker, I doubt the accuracy of the information provided to the Minister. He says over 50% coverage in Unnichchai but only 217 connections. My question concerned Unnichchai, Panayaruppan, Vadakkalmadu, Pansenai, Pavatkodichchenai, Nediyamadhu and other areas within Vavunativu DS Division. The Minister cites a few hundred pipelines here and there. He speaks of a package system to be provided, but it has been about one year and four months in office with two Budgets passed, and there is still no proposal to provide drinking water to these areas—only future promises. Meanwhile, Rs. 23,000 million was allocated to supply water to settlers in Manal Aru–Weli Oya. There is money to supply water to illegal majoritarian settlements, but neither funds nor plans to supply drinking water to people in Vavunativu DS Division. You say 4,000 farmers will receive water under the Kivul Oya project. Allocating even 10% of Rs. 23,000 million would provide drinking water to 10,000–15,000 persons in the aforesaid areas. How is this fair?
