¶ 01 On behalf of the Minister, the answer is as follows:

¶ 02 (a)(i) The number of State land parcels granted on lease in Anuradhapura District by DS Division is as follows (abbreviated): - Nuwaragam Palatha Central: 659 - Rajanganaya: 30 - Nochchiyagama: 56 - Rambewa: 183 - Ipalogama: 42 - Galenbindunuwewa: 202 - Padaviya: 8 - Kebithigollewa: 301 - Thirappane: 406 - Thambuttegama: All lands in this DS Division have been vested in the Mahaweli Authority.

¶ 03 (ii) Yes.

¶ 04 (iii) Specific identification of all persons is not possible at this time. However, according to the Secretary of the Kodinnewa Farmers’ Organization and statements from those maintaining about 2 acres of permanent crops, from around 2005 former MP S.M. Chandrasena and his spouse have used the area for chena and paddy cultivation. The Horowpothana DS has reported this; the Land Commissioner General has informed accordingly. Approximately 75 acres of chena and 75 acres of paddy are being cultivated by residents and outsiders; exact details can be confirmed during the cropping season through field inspection. Officials are currently conducting surveys and gathering information.

¶ 05 (iv) No permits, grants or long-term licences have been issued.

¶ 06 (v) The Department of Agrarian Development has informed that fertilizer subsidy has been provided for about 10 acres.

¶ 07 (vi) Cash assistance disbursed to two farmers: - 2023/2024 Maha: Rs. 6,000 per acre for 5 acres = Rs. 30,000. - 2024/2025 Maha: Rs. 10,000 per acre for 10 acres = Rs. 100,000. Fertilizer quantities issued: - Irrigated paddy: per acre – Urea 72 kg, MOP 16 kg, TSP 14 kg. - Rainfed paddy: per acre – Urea 62 kg, MOP 14 kg, TSP 12 kg.
