¶ 01 Hon. Speaker, my question to the Hon. Prime Minister is as follows:

¶ 02 Under the mechanism of the first Budget of the present Government, a large number of public officers who retired during 2020–2024 have been subjected to inequity due to the method of increasing public sector salaries with effect from 01.01.2025, and aligning pensionable salaries to the 2027 salary structure while pension increases from 31.12.2019 were applied. Therefore: 01. Has a pension disparity arisen for public officers who retired during 2020–2024 due to the increase of public sector salaries for those retiring on or after 01.01.2025 and the adjustment of pensions based on the salary as at 31.12.2019? 02. How many pensioners have been affected by such disparity? 03. By how much in rupees and percentage has such a pension disparity arisen? 04. What steps has the Government taken to remove that disparity? 05. If the Government intends to remove that disparity, how will the budgetary allocations be made? Will you explain to this House?
