¶ 01 Hon. Rathnayake, you were not in Parliament then. At that time he stood on this side and said, “You stand up; your file is with me; you stand up; your file is with me.” But he did not have Ibrahim’s file. When Ibrahim exploded the bombs, the children had channelled the money. If now the Secretary in charge of Police says the money too was by Ibrahim, is your party not connected?

¶ 02 The Presidential Commission reports say there were two investigations: one into those who detonated the bombs; next, those who conspired; and third, those who shirked responsibility. The report says to file indictments against the two who evaded responsibility. When it says to file cases, will they file cases if the investigations are assigned to them? No need to go far: there was a civil case against the Secretary in charge of Police—for causing an accident under the influence. It was taken to court. In court it was said: remove two of the three charges, remove even the charge of being under the influence. Imagine—when it is said in court like that, the case was withdrawn.
