¶ 01 Hon. Member, you said to implement the Wee Oya Reservoir project. However, Hon. Kabir Hashim did not say it quite that way; he went around the matter. Here is the situation: I will address the Wee Oya status in my speech. There are some bottlenecks related to the irrigation sector. Our main aim is to clear those bottlenecks. There is opposition; at a glance we think there could be environmental harm. But as a responsible government, we will discuss with the people, provide relief, and if relocation is necessary, ensure justice when implementing the project. That is our approach. Not only this, there are many projects nationwide—including stalled ones. In all cases, we intend to act fairly from the people’s perspective. The Wee Oya project too will be managed thus. We have already held numerous discussions.
