¶ 01 No, I am setting it out. I will come to it.

¶ 02 After the Gazette appointing the Governors on 2024.09.27, knowing that the recommendations were given after they assumed office, on the same day Prof. Dinesha Samararatne sent a sworn statement by email to you, Hon. Speaker, registering her objection regarding the circumstances under which she used her vote.

¶ 03 Under section 4 of Part A of the Schedule to the Parliament (Powers and Privileges) Act, presenting false information with intent to mislead Parliament or any committee is a serious offence. It appears that the Hon. Leader of the House, Bimal Rathnayake, knowingly committed such an act. Likewise, you, Hon. Speaker, are also implicated. As the Head of this august Parliament and as Chair of the Constitutional Council, both of you have caused serious harm to the dignity of Parliament. Therefore, the privileges of all Members have been breached. I respectfully request that this matter be referred to the Committee on Privileges and that, as Head of Parliament and Chair of the Constitutional Council, you make a clarification to this Hon. House regarding this grave matter.
