¶ 01 Hon. Speaker, the answers are as follows:

¶ 02 (a) (i) Details are provided in Annex 01. (ii) and (iii) The timeline for completion of projects expected to be finished is in Annex 02. Of 29 total community water projects, only 9 have provided water; the remainder have not. Annex 01 specifies which have and have not delivered water. Overall, in Galle District, of 29 projects commenced, construction of 9 has been completed; work is ongoing to provide water to all intended beneficiaries. However, reviewing projects planned and implemented during 2019–2021 shows low success. Water was planned for 4,887 beneficiary families, but to date only about 593 families have received water—around 12 per cent of the estimate—so we cannot say these projects were largely successful. (iv) K.K. Samanthilaka – Director (Procurement). (v) While investigations have not specifically established corruption or irregularities during procurement, several weaknesses in contract administration have been identified, particularly regarding some community-based organizations and certain contractors. Preliminary recommendations have been received, and we will proceed accordingly.
