¶ 01 Hon. Presiding Member, I second the Adjournment Motion brought by Hon. Rajeevan Jeyachandramoorthy on the effectiveness and legal framework concerning DCC decisions.

¶ 02 DCCs are forums to decide development matters of each district. To resolve shortcomings at divisional levels, decisions from local coordinating committees are escalated to the DCC. Those meetings include relevant department heads, Government and Opposition MPs of the district, the District Secretary and the Governor. If conducted effectively, these meetings can implement development projects properly and improve the living standards of the people. We, as Government Members, believe the implementation and monitoring of DCC decisions must be strengthened and accompanied by a robust legal framework. Incorporating constructive inputs from Opposition Members will also help produce better outcomes. We must enhance DCC efficiency to ensure transparent and accountable implementation of development decisions. Thank you.
