¶ 01 Hon. Member, our objective is equal access to quality health services for every citizen. Development of District General Hospitals and upgrading Provincial Hospitals to District General status have occurred at different times, leading to differing stages of development. Mullaitivu, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi and Mannar District General Hospitals are under Provincial Councils, not line Ministry administration, but we supply required staff and resources progressively to all hospitals. In addition to Treasury funds, we mobilize external assistance. As I mentioned earlier, we have concluded agreements with the Government of India to construct an Accident and Emergency complex at Mannar. We are also bringing a project to Mullaitivu. We will continue these development efforts to achieve parity.
